Argh, the space gains I saw were in the uncompressed kernel and translated to only 8k of savings in the compressed one. The alpha kernel is still 20k over budget: # du -k /R/stage/image.kern 211 /R/stage/image.kern/boot 1460 /R/stage/image.kern Note that once I test may latest set of changes to the release stuff, we will be able to use the GENERIC kernel for CD booting, so if there are platforms which just have CD's and not floppies, we can safely axe them from the BOOTMFS kernel used on the floppies. -- John Baldwin <jhb@FreeBSD.org> <>< http://www.FreeBSD.org/~jhb/ "Power Users Use the Power to Serve!" - http://www.FreeBSD.org/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe cvs-all" in the body of the message
