----Security_Multipart(Mon_Sep__6_02_10_55_2004_066)-- Content-Type: Text/Plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi all, Just a reminder, here is doc/ related schedule for 5.3-RELEASE (see also http://www.freebsd.org/releases/5.3R/schedule.html): 09/17: The doc/ tree slush begins. The purpose of the doc/ slush is to slow down the rate of change in that tree in order to allow the translation teams time to finalize their work and to avoid last-minute breakage for the 5.3-RELEASE. If we can resolve problems before this expected date, doc/ slush could start earlier (09/10 at earliest). As usual, doc/ slush is not a real freeze and requires no formal commit approval procedure for your commit, but you are kindly requested not to commit large, structural changes during that period. 09/24: The doc/ tagging for 5.3-RELEASE (RELEASE_5_3_0) is expected on September 24. For commit policy during 5.3R release engineering cycle, please read http://www.freebsd.org/releases/5.3R/policy.html carefully. Documentation fixes are encouraged to be submitted as a PR and to be reviewed, and changes for docs in src/ (e.g. manual pages) should be committed the parent branch (currently HEAD) first. Especially if you think you will work on TODO items in http://www.freebsd.org/releases/5.3R/todo.html, please contact doc@FreeBSD.org mailing-list and/or the responsible persons listed, and follow the policy in order to sort out outstanding problems. If you have trivial change (such as typo fix) which does not need to be reviewed closely, or you are not familiar with send-pr, feel free to submit your idea/suggestion/patch to doc@FreeBSD.org. If you are one of the committers and do not know if committing your patch is reasonable or not, please ask re@ (for src/) or doceng@ (for doc/). Basically, when it is small and do not need any technical review, you can commit it onto HEAD now. Thank you for your cooperation and keep up the good work! -- | Hiroki SATO ----Security_Multipart(Mon_Sep__6_02_10_55_2004_066)-- Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQBBO0ifTyzT2CeTzy0RAkOfAJsH7UiZWzd+xT1mGkW/joI8VBuZpwCdF9GS JFrx2V+dq4N/GfnuwUtIn3w= =fUbX -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ----Security_Multipart(Mon_Sep__6_02_10_55_2004_066)----
