It's in gdb's (private -- hey why?  why not link it against
-lgnumalloc?)  malloc library.  The XFree86 folks are also
experimenting with an mmap-based malloc().  I know that they do
experience some problems, and David confirmed me that at least
``memory holes'' in a process' address space could cause some trouble.

Just as a reminder... if it doesn't gain gdb anything, don't try to
break it.
