>Release: FreeBSD 2.1.5-RELEASE i386
>Environment:
FreeBSD system with kernel sources.
>Description:
'make install' fails in /sys/compile/MACHINE if '/kernel' doesn't
already exist.
>How-To-Repeat:
cd /sys/compile/MACHINE
chflags noschg /kernel
rm /kernel
make install
This was found originally when reconstructing the system after the
root filesystem was corrupted and then fsck'd.
>Fix:
Workaround:
touch /kernel
make install
Actual fix would be to tell make not to stop because of a failure
changing the flags or name of /kernel.
