Now i agree with simon, it's a redundancy. I think that, even with the existence of MASTER_SORT (which usage is not documented in the bsd.port.mk header, and which usage is not documented in the porters handbook), this is a much easier solution which will help a big group of users which have absolutely no idea how to use awk but are stuck with slow downloads from heanet.
