  nagios really isn't the comparable to OpenNMS.  It is like suggesting
that I use a Spreadsheet but I've asked for a Word Processor.  Nagios and
OpenNMS are different tools for different functions.  There is some
feature overlap, but the goals are rather different.

  You should probably get on the FreeBSD-java mailing list.  Plus, you are
going to hvae to provide a detailed description of what is failing
("doesn't work" isn't a problem description).  OpenNMS is a big piece of
software.  I think there might be a FreeBSD port in progress.
