 I'm seeing the very same problem trying to netboot a Thinkpad X60s.
 
 As noted in 
 http://jcmdev0.blogspot.com/2008/06/freebsd-70-on-thinkpad-x60s.html
 using an old pxeboot binary works. In my case, I took the pxeboot
 binary from a 6.2 install disk.
