Here's a good place to start:

These pages seem to be kept fairly up to date, and it's
a good example of how much work still needs done.  As
FreeBSD continues to evolve and grow, this is an ongoing
effort.

Eric's suggestion about fixing grammer/typos is also
valid ... but you don't have to stop at that!  You could
always combine two tasks into one: read the entire
FreeBSD handbook, and submit PRs when you find typos/
spelling/grammatical errors or unclear sections that
you're capable of fixing.

Just another suggestion.
