Thanks to both of you. I had the kernel built OK (albeit with flags 0x13), but I forgot to put the apm_enable="YES" into my rc.config. Sigh. It now works like a champ except that the Ethernet will wake my system up instantly if I leave it connected. But that's a minor annoyance. R.
