When compiling GENERIC with gcc31:

pal.o:/sys/alpha/compile/QUYNH.gcc31/../../../alpha/alpha/pal.s:75: relocation truncated to fit: REFLONG .text
prom_disp.o:/sys/alpha/compile/QUYNH.gcc31/../../../alpha/alpha/prom_disp.s:67: relocation truncated to fit: REFLONG .text

Any ideas how to deal with this?
