Hi,
I'm still in the process of installing FreeBsd 2.2.5 on my ThinkPad 560,
and I've run into a problem. Things are going a little better now that
I've gotten rid of my ethernet/modem multifunction card and replaced
them with separate ethernet/modem pcmcia cards. Unfortunately, even
though I am setting sio0 to IRQ 4 and port 0x3F8 for the new modem card
(Hayes Accura 56k), the probe can't seem to find anything at 3F8. Since
I want to install the OS via FTP, I'm pretty much stuck unless it
recognizes the modem. (By the way, the modem works fine under
Windows95, and I don't think that I have any conflicts with that IRQ or
port number).
I tried the 'PAO' version of the boot.flp in hopes that it would have a
better time in recognizing my modem. Instead I got hundreds of errors
like this
Error: D:0x0 C:56 H:1 S:3
in the initial booting steps (sometimes the C and S numbers changed).
Any ideas where I can go from here?
Thanks,
Peter
