Just wanted to tell you that the exact same thing happened to me when I was compiling pdksh on thud, running a fairly recent -current. When it got to the "checking for working mmap", it just hang. No answers to ping or anything. I don't know what the status it is now, nobody at WC seems to have the time to take a look at thud.... Satoshi
