I have read all of the postings and tutorials and have recompiled the kernel numerous times, but I continue to be unsuccessful in mounting a parallel port zip drive to my old FreeBSD box. I am running the 4.2-stable version on an old Pentium box. I have removed the comment mark on devices scbus, da, and vpo. As you can see from the message logs, vpo0 is set but I get VPO error/timeouts. ************************************** ppc0: <Parallel port> at port 0x378-0x37f irq 7 on isa0 ppc0: SMC-like chipset (ECP/EPP/PS2/NIBBLE) in COMPATIBLE mode plip0: <PLIP network interface> on ppbus0 lpt0: <Printer> on ppbus0 lpt0: Interrupt-driven port ppi0: <Parallel I/O> on ppbus0 vpo0: <Iomega VPI0 Parallel to SCSI interface> on ppbus0 vpo0: EPP 1.9 mode ad0: 2441MB <WDC AC22500L> [4960/16/63] at ata0-master BIOSPIO ad1: 1033MB <WDC AC31000F> [2100/16/63] at ata0-slave BIOSPIO (null): MODE_SENSE_BIG command timeout - resetting ata1: resetting devices .. done vpo0: VP0 error/timeout (5) vpo0: VP0 error/timeout (5) vpo0: VP0 error/timeout (5) vpo0: VP0 error/timeout (5) vpo0: VP0 error/timeout (5) (null): MODE_SENSE_BIG command timeout - resetting ata1: resetting devices .. done (null): MODE_SENSE_BIG command timeout - resetting ata1: resetting devices .. done (null): MODE_SENSE_BIG command timeout - resetting ata1: resetting devices .. done acd0: CDROM <MATSHITA CR-574> at ata1-master using BIOSPIO vpo0: VP0 error/timeout (5) vpo0: VP0 error/timeout (2) vpo0: VP0 error/timeout (5) vpo0: VP0 error/timeout (5) vpo0: VP0 error/timeout (5) vpo0: VP0 error/timeout (5) vpo0: VP0 error/timeout (5) Mounting root from ufs:/dev/ad0s1a **************************************** Any help provided is greatly appreciated.
