We are about 600' with cheap omni-direction antennas, Line of site and a 100' extension made from 10 base-2 (RG58) cable :) (He had to get the antenna to the back of his house). If you have a large distance you need to have line of sight. With a directional antenna and line of site you can be miles apart. The ISA card is LANEscape WL2420 and it is 2Mbps. they have a PMCIA card and access points also but with FreeBSD who needs an access point? :) I got mine from CyberLan but they no longer sell them.
