Hi, Im boot on FreeBSD v7.2 amd64 release disc1, stop boot (6) and disable dma cdrom: OK set hw.ata.atapi_dma=0 OK boot ... acd0: FAILURE - READ_BIG ILLEGAL REQUEST asc=0x64 ascq=0x03 GEOM_LABEL: Label for provider ad12s1 is ufsid/472dfcdea9875215. No dump device defined. Automatic reboot in 15 seconds - press a key on the console to abort When I boot with FreeBSD v7.2 amd64 release livefs (no panic and disable dma), switch livefs cd to disc1 and start custom install, I have this warning, maybe its related?: User Confirmation Request WARNING: It is safe to use a geometry of 290718/16/63 for ad12 on computers with modern BIOS versions. If this disk is to be used on rather old machines, however, it is recommended to ensure that it does not have more than 65535 cylinders, or more than 255 heads or more than 63 sectors per track. Would you like that to keep using the current geometry? click Yes and start custom install: OK Verified iso md5 checksum: OK No pb during boot on previous freebsd v7.1 (or 7.0) amd64 release disc1. FreeBSD v7.2 amd64 release livefs: boot OK (no panic) FreeBSD v7.2 i386 release disc1/livefs: boot OK (no panic) Regards Rmkml Crusoe-Researches.com
