I've already committed the quirk by time of submission.] The TOSHIBA TransMemory USB stick complains about the synchronize cache command: Mar 9 20:58:49 uriah kernel: umass0: TOSHIBA TransMemory, rev 2.00/1.00, addr 6 Mar 9 20:58:49 uriah kernel: umass0: SCSI over Bulk-Only; quirks = 0x0000 Mar 9 20:58:49 uriah kernel: umass0:2:0:-1: Attached to scbus2 Mar 9 20:58:51 uriah kernel: da2 at umass-sim0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0 Mar 9 20:58:51 uriah kernel: da2: <TOSHIBA TransMemory 1.04> Removable Direct Access SCSI-0 device Mar 9 20:58:51 uriah kernel: da2: 1.000MB/s transfers Mar 9 20:58:51 uriah kernel: da2: 489MB (1001472 512 byte sectors: 64H 32S/T 489C) Mar 9 20:58:51 uriah kernel: umass0: Phase Error, residue = 0 Mar 9 20:58:51 uriah kernel: (da2:umass-sim0:0:0:0): Synchronize cache failed, status == 0x4, scsi status == 0x0 The device is usable (i. e. it does not hang, crash, or experience other undesired behaviour), but the messages are annoying. Note that this device implements the WCE bit, and defaults it to 1. (Yes, weird. They really might want to implement synchronize cache then, but they don't.) >How-To-Repeat: >Fix: Enter to scsi_da.c quirks table. >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted:
