The 'port test' command (ports-mgmt/porttools) tests a port for a number of possible errors by running portlint, building, packaging, installing, and de-installing with a check for left files. This is done with defined PREFIX and PKG_DBDIR variables. 'port test' command is recommended by the Porter's Handbook. Note that the port installs the usual way. $ cd x11-fonts/linux-f10-fontconfig ; port test +++++++++++++++ ===> Validating port with portlint WARN: Makefile: manpage for chapter 1 should be listed in MAN1, even if compression is not necessary. WARN: Makefile: manpage for chapter 5 should be listed in MAN5, even if compression is not necessary. 0 fatal errors and 2 warnings found. ===> flags: PREFIX=/home/chu/tmp/linux-f10-fontconfig-2.6.0 NO_DEPENDS=yes PKG_DBDIR=/tmp/pkg_db.0cEOnlbw -- ===> Cleaning workspace before port test ===> Cleaning for linux-f10-fontconfig-2.6.0 ===> Extracting for linux-f10-fontconfig-2.6.0 => MD5 Checksum OK for rpm/i386/fedora/10/fontconfig-2.6.0-3.fc10.i386.rpm. => SHA256 Checksum OK for rpm/i386/fedora/10/fontconfig-2.6.0-3.fc10.i386.rpm. ===> Patching for linux-f10-fontconfig-2.6.0 ===> Configuring for linux-f10-fontconfig-2.6.0 ===> Installing for linux-f10-fontconfig-2.6.0 ===> Generating temporary packing list ===> Checking if x11-fonts/linux-f10-fontconfig already installed cd /usr/ports/x11-fonts/linux-f10-fontconfig/work && /usr/bin/find * -type d -exec /bin/mkdir -p "/home/chu/tmp/linux-f10-fontconfig-2.6.0/{}" \; cd /usr/ports/x11-fonts/linux-f10-fontconfig/work && /usr/bin/find * ! -type d | /usr/bin/cpio -pm -R root:wheel /home/chu/tmp/linux-f10-fontconfig-2.6.0 617 blocks ln: /home/chu/tmp/linux-f10-fontconfig-2.6.0/etc/: No such file or directory *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/x11-fonts/linux-f10-fontconfig. ===> Error running make install ===> Cleaning up
