Good question.. I've been assuming that a version/copy of that file living under /usr/src/sys would be required.. do any other kernel bits compile in source files from outside of /usr/src/sys? Maybe it's not such a big deal to just go ahead and copy the same file into the kernel sources.. but then we have two copies.
