I thought of this and tried this.  However, the definition of <ref **>
says that string for name=".." to be displayed in italic font.  So
even if you use <tt>..</tt> as above, the definition of <ref **>
overrides <tt></tt>, and thus, it is impossible to make the string to
appear in typewritten font.
