Cybercash(.com) has a client side API for FreeBSD. I use it for CC 
processing and later billing. The API is the thing to go for, so you can 
code to it. authorize.net is strictly a webform-post company if I remember 
correctly.. They also run on NT!  Cybercash uses unix at least.
