Hi Jonathan, XWrapper is only needed if you're using XFree 4.X. If you're using 3.X, you really don't need it. How are you logged on when you type startx? As root or a normal user? Check your home directory for files that begin with a "." If you startx as root, the system moves (copies) files into your home directory. Always startx as a user then, once in if you really have to, su to root.
