I have taken a longer look (after cleaning my glasses :>) and the only
place where the the web site and/or the regular documentation uses
/relnotes/CURRENT is within www/{,de/,fr/}relnotes.sgml.

As I wrote earlier, I agree wholeheartedly :) The attached patch makes
relnotes.sgml use the non-split version and installs only the non-split
version. Comments?
BTW, I just noticed that we will need to do some additional work
in this area: Right now, we only create and install the release
notes for RELENG_4 and HEAD; in the future, we will have to create
and install the release notes for RELENG_5...
