Hi, ok, I updated all Ports, pkg_deleted my Eclipse, removed the /usr/local/lib/eclipse Directory (which still existed due to the Plugins installed as "root"), re-built and installed java/eclipse, rm -rf'ed ~/.eclipse, ~/workspace and /root/workspace. Then started Eclipse -as User-, installed PyDev. Install went thru fine; the files being installed ended up in ~/.eclipse/org.eclipse.platform_3.5.0_946975857/plugins/. However, upon restart I didn't see anything of PyDev. Then started Eclipse as root and installed PyDev - install went thru like the "User" one - but upon restart I did see PyDev. Removed my ~/.eclipse and ~/workspace, started Eclipse as User again - and saw PyDev. The Configuration (Help/About Eclipse SDK/Installation Details/Configuration) listed these Features after Installation of PyDev as User: *** Features: org.eclipse.cvs (1.1.101.R35x_v20100125-7E79FGD9kKF67BPDZ7PKCE1911) "Eclipse CVS Client" org.eclipse.help (1.1.2.R35x_v20100119-7e7eFAnFEx2X_fZltJhDjz-D) "Help System Base" org.eclipse.jdt (3.5.2.r352_v20100108-7r88FEwFI0WTuoBl0iaG0tyhfZH6) "Eclipse Java Development Tools" org.eclipse.pde (3.5.2.R35x_v20100119-7Z7_FA2FDX-aXQYWqYDBz-z0qufo) "PDE" org.eclipse.platform (3.5.2.R35x_v20100210-0800-9wEnGFyFthz-4yg6B60OIpw65ABz09Ob_FT7JHF) "Eclipse Platform" org.eclipse.rcp (3.5.2.R35x_v20100119-A-AsG3KFocc4Vz-97iWGrXXb27BA) "Eclipse RCP" org.eclipse.sdk (3.5.2.R35x_v20100119-7Q7bARBPkUMMrOSko67clZ43WcZR-CertxP4fj-TDFGhS) "Eclipse Project SDK" the *** Plug-in Registry: didn't contain anything PyDev-like. after Installation of PyDev as root, however, it looked like *** Features: org.eclipse.cvs (1.1.101.R35x_v20100125-7E79FGD9kKF67BPDZ7PKCE1911) "Eclipse CVS Client" org.eclipse.help (1.1.2.R35x_v20100119-7e7eFAnFEx2X_fZltJhDjz-D) "Help System Base" org.eclipse.jdt (3.5.2.r352_v20100108-7r88FEwFI0WTuoBl0iaG0tyhfZH6) "Eclipse Java Development Tools" org.eclipse.pde (3.5.2.R35x_v20100119-7Z7_FA2FDX-aXQYWqYDBz-z0qufo) "PDE" org.eclipse.platform (3.5.2.R35x_v20100210-0800-9wEnGFyFthz-4yg6B60OIpw65ABz09Ob_FT7JHF) "Eclipse Platform" org.eclipse.rcp (3.5.2.R35x_v20100119-A-AsG3KFocc4Vz-97iWGrXXb27BA) "Eclipse RCP" org.eclipse.sdk (3.5.2.R35x_v20100119-7Q7bARBPkUMMrOSko67clZ43WcZR-CertxP4fj-TDFGhS) "Eclipse Project SDK" org.python.pydev.feature (1.6.2.2010090812) "Pydev - Python Development Environment" and *** Plug-in Registry: com.ibm.icu (4.0.1.v20090822) "International Components for Unicode for Java (ICU4J)" [Active] com.jcraft.jsch (0.1.41.v200903070017) "JSch" [Resolved] com.python.pydev (1.6.2.2010090812) "Pydev Extensions" [Starting] com.python.pydev.analysis (1.6.2.2010090812) "Analysis Plug-in" [Starting] com.python.pydev.codecompletion (1.6.2.2010090812) "Codecompletion Plug-in" [Starting] com.python.pydev.debug (1.6.2.2010090812) "Extensions Debug Plug-in" [Starting] com.python.pydev.fastparser (1.6.2.2010090812) "Fastparser Plug-in" [Starting] com.python.pydev.refactoring (1.6.2.2010090812) "Refactoring Plug-in" [Starting] did contain PyDev. Then tried to install Log4E as User - however, again I didn't see it after the Restart. To get my Eclipse into a "workable" state again I'll reinstall all plugins as root and launch eclipse as root regularly to get any Updates. Does anyone have a hint? MTIA, Cheers, _ralf_help
