How about using NOPERL for now? :-) I'd prefer not to put a NOFOO on every foo that doesn't work on alpha. Testing for the MACHINE accurately reflects the state of the port. That way, anyone can say "hey perl hasn't been ported to alpha, I'll work on that". OK, so I dream...
