I am trying to use a USB mass storage device (for slots: SmartMedia cards, etc. pp.). The USB system finds the device: > usbdevs -v [...] port 1 addr 2: full speed, power 100 mA, config 1, product 0x0c55(0x0c55), vendor 0x1019(0x1019), rev 1.00 The da driver finds the device, too: Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da0 at umass-sim0 bus 0 target 0 lun 0 Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da0: <IC USB Storage-CFC 301b> Removable Direct Access SCSI-0 device Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da0: 1.000MB/s transfers Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da0: Attempt to query device size failed: NOT READY, Medium not present Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da1 at umass-sim0 bus 0 target 0 lun 1 Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da1: <IC USB Storage-SMC 301b> Removable Direct Access SCSI-0 device Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da1: 1.000MB/s transfers Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da1: Attempt to query device size failed: NOT READY, Medium not present Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da2 at umass-sim0 bus 0 target 0 lun 2 Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da2: <IC USB Storage-MMC 301b> Removable Direct Access SCSI-0 device Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da2: 1.000MB/s transfers Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da2: Attempt to query device size failed: NOT READY, Medium not present Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da3 at umass-sim0 bus 0 target 0 lun 3 Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da3: <IC USB Storage-MSC 301b> Removable Direct Access SCSI-0 device Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da3: 1.000MB/s transfers Jan 23 10:08:10 neo kernel: da3: Attempt to query device size failed: NOT READY, Medium not present But somehow the card is not found, although a valid (I proved it to myself with a public card reader for photo-print-outs) SmartMedia 32MB card is in the apropriate slot. What can I do? Do you think the card reading device is damaged? -A Wörner __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free web site building tool.
