Oh, it's only _one_ guy? :-)
I tend to trust the team at the FHG institute more, which
develops MPEG applications for a long time, and who has
accumulated a consideral amount of know-how over many years.
They have representatives in the MPEG ISO committee.
(They also hold several essential patents on MPEG audio,
giving them basically a monopoly on that technology, but
that doesn't necessarily indicates anything about the
quality of their software. ;-)

PS: Personally I don't like the FHG people for their
attitude, but their MPEG layer3 encoder rocks.
