Hi Siegbert, I have that line already in /etc/fstab too, but I thought some other device might be required specifically for audio cd's. Turns out that NO other device is actually required & as you have rightly pointed out, is just a matter of tweaking the preferences within xmms. Thanks everyone, Rosco.
