Doesn't appear to be that way on RELENG_4 (as of 11/27):

trinity 9% /usr/bin/gperf -v
/* starting time is 8:30:27 */
/usr/bin/gperf: version 2.1 (K&R C version)

If you've got an OSVERSION indicating when it got put in to -CURRENT,
I can certainly go add the necessary magic.
