My friend had a problem doing an install of FreeBSD 4.2 on an ABIT single CPU board that he was overclocking. When he was able to complete the install the system would inevitably give him strange errors, not sure if this was one of them. Try running without overclocking(I know, hard thing to give up I've heard) and see if the problem comes back.
