If you think this makes sense I am definitely supportive. Can you help
with such a patch?

wine-devel has de facto been unmaintained for ten months now. Recently I
have been trying to help - pushing it forward by 20+ snapshots, doing
some simplifications and fixes - but am running out of time and energy.

This is not me being flippant, rather genuinely asking for help.

The port is now back to ports@, so does not require approval.

Help very welcome! (And happy to provide one or two additional pointers of
necessary improvements to anyone interested.)

Gerald
