It looks like cdrecord doesn't see your Plextor drive. > When trying to burn a CD ROM, I get this error: > > root: /cdr/image: cdrecord speed=4 dev=6,0 4.1-install.iso > Cdrecord 1.8 (i386-unknown-freebsd4.0) Copyright (C) 1995-2000 J?rg Schilling > scsidev: '6,0' > scsibus: 0 target: 6 lun: 0 > cdrecord: No such file or directory. Cannot open SCSI driver. > cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'. Make sure you are root. The most likely explanation for these problems is that you don't have enough pass(4) devices in /dev. You need one /dev/passN device for each SCSI device in your system. Look at the output of 'camcontrol devlist', and make sure that all the pass devices listed there are in /dev. To make pass devices: cd /dev sh MAKEDEV pass10 (that will make pass0 -> pass9) Ken -- Kenneth Merry ken@kdm.org To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
