I'm hoping that this isn't a "technical" question... I'm using DSL (not PacBell) with FreeBSD, and I have to say that setting it up was far easier than setting up a modem. In terms of PacBell, a friend of mine who uses l***x got the service, then had some problems. It seems that PacBell uses PPPoE (at least his did), so you will need to look in the Handbook and other sources for PPPoE, or ask in -questions.
