FreeBSD l9-host6.inside.digital-ventures.net 8.2-STABLE FreeBSD 8.2-STABLE #0: Fri Jun 10 11:31:14 EEST 2011 root@l9-host6.inside.digital-ventures.net:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC amd64
>Description:
Geom label using GPT labels on geom multipath consumers instead of providers.
>How-To-Repeat:
Create multipath device configuration with gmultipath utility. F.Ex.:
Name Status Components
multipath/data N/A da1
da2
Then create a GPT label on top of multipath device (in our example it will be /dev/multipath/data) with such command:
gpart add -t freebsd-zfs -l data /dev/multipath/data
and then after reboot in "glabel list" you can see:
Geom name: da1p1
Providers:
1. Name: gpt/data
Mediasize: 7000000788480 (6.4T)
Sectorsize: 512
Stripesize: 0
Stripeoffset: 17408
Mode: r1w1e1
secoffset: 0
offset: 0
seclength: 13671876540
length: 7000000788480
index: 0
Consumers:
1. Name: da1p1
Mediasize: 7000000788480 (6.4T)
Sectorsize: 512
Stripesize: 0
Stripeoffset: 17408
Mode: r1w1e2
device da1p1 instead of multipath/data.
