| There was a problem with some Xircom cards in 4.4-Release. Can you
| provide the model of the card? That might make it a bit easier to

| In general, cards with '2' or 'B' in the model number don't work. The
| '2' cards should work with stable or 4.5 when it comes out. Cards with
| 'B' are CardBus cards and will not work any time soon. They will work
| with CURRENT using NEWCARD, but running CURRENT is not for the weak at

Windows-ME identifies it as:
Xircom CE-!!ps Credit Card Ethernet Adaptor
where the "!!" could be "11" or "ll" or "II" -- they used a
stupid font that I can't interpret and I don't know how to
extract the information from Windows as text. Perhaps this is
something that equates to "2" in some way? There's no "B" in
the Windows identifier. Needless to say, the card works just
fine on my network under Windows on all the available laptops
but is ignored under FreeBSD-4.4 ...
