I can't see how it would go to sleep mid-transfer. I can see from iostat transfers going continuously and at great speeds and then the error happens. the backup software is not stalling at the source or anything. I will try your suggestion later. currently every test means hanging and rebooting a working server and is a bit of a pain. 8( /max
