More questions:
* Are you using any compiler optimizations when compiling the kernel?
aka -O2 (typically found in /etc/make.conf or in the specific kernel
configuration file). If so, just use -O.
* Are you using any RAID/striping driver like vinum or ccd?
* Are you using vn, mfs, or md?
