There are dozens of such applications. The easiest way to install them would be using the ports: /usr/ports/news. My personal favourite is Tin <http://www.tin.org/>, which is console-based. Other popular console-based readers are slrn and Mutt (with a patch). Pan and KNode are graphical alternatives.
