On -current the firewire driver should let the PCI code try to
route it an interrupt if it doesn't have one.  I have a guess
patch (untested, I have no fw hardware) at
http://www.freebsd.org/~jhb/patches/fwohci.patch

If people seeing the 'PNP OS' message on current could try this
patch and see if it works better that would be great.
