Just a thought.  On many UNIX systems core dumps are placed in a file
named "core" in the current working directory.  On FreeBSD the program
name is prepended along with a period, so if program "foo" dumps core,
you should look for a file "foo.core".  If you're not used to that
then you probably won't see the core dump files....
