Well, as unexpected as it is, the answer is yes. mount_msdosfs uses libkiconv(3) which dlopen()s libiconv.so, which is not provided by the base system and thus has to come from a thirdparty, typically the iconv port. We already have a BSD-licensed iconv in the src tree, but it is not connected to the build yet. > 2.
