If this is a small site, and you aren't doing credit card transactions,
then you might want to just get a certificate from FreeSSL.com.
Registration is easy, and it only takes about 10 minutes to get the
cert.  Most newer browsers and mail clients will trust these
certificates and stop complaining.

If you are doing ecommerce, then it's best to just get a certificate
from Thawte or Verisign.
