Regardless, yes, this fixes the problem! All the names that are shown correctly
in Pulse applications (i.e., they show the same names that /dev/sndstat does).
And, yes, the microphone works too.

So, yes, this patch fixes my issue. Thank you for the quick response. Can we
get that committed?
