Hi, We are using the "Merit RADIUS 2.4.23C" for authentication. The server is running on a FreeBSD-2.2.2 x86 machine and we use a 3COM (US Robotic's) Total Control as a port terminal server. The problem is simple: each time a user try to authenticate and don't have the right password or the right user name, the Radius Server exit (on signal 11) and Core Dump. There's currently a script that check every 2 minutes if the Radius is still running and restart it if needed. Here is an example of I took from my logs: /var/log/messages: ------------------------------------ Mar 1 17:48:21 mail /kernel: pid 1645 (radiusd), uid 0: exited on signal 11 (core dumped) ------------------------------------ /usr/local/lib/radius/db/logfile: ------------------------------------ 1 17:48:17 1998: rad_authenticate: 186/8 'rdubois' at 207.253.52.100 PPP 1 17:48:17 1998: Authentication: 186/8 'rdubois' via 207.253.52.100 from usr1 port 48 PPP - FAILED Authentication failure^M^J Sun Mar 1 17:50:00 1998: Merit RADIUS 2.4.23C, licensed software Sun Mar 1 17:50:00 1998: Copyright (c) 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 by The Sun Mar 1 17:50:00 1998: Regents of the University of Michigan and Merit Network, Inc. ... ------------------------------------ If you want more informations or the core dump file, please don't hesitate to email-me...
