Legally, there's no real difference from a pseudonym and an eponymous name. How could there be? I should have added that the project decided, years ago, to only use it for the collection copyright holder in the /COPYRIGHT file. All other files require an actual copyright holder at the time of submission. The project generally doesn't track successors in interest, though there are exceptions when the copyright holder themselves make the change.
