Hi all
I was reading about building kernels and found that there are two ways (maybe
more?):
1. The old way!?! where you
cd /sys/i386/conf
config KERNEL
cd ../../compile/KERNEL
make depend
make
Now the kernel is in that dir.
2. The new way!?!
cd /usr/src
make buildkernel KERNCONF=KERNEL
Now the kernel is in /usr/obj/usr/src/sys/KERNEL
Why is the kernel being build in different places?
Which way will be the way "of the future"?
Why the difference? do you have the same options no matter which one you
use?
