I have both PM2e's and a PM3 and they do support Variable Length Subnet
Masks.. We use them all the time.  Check out

With version 3.5 OSPF *IS* supported... Not a beta... Also, I am not sure
why you would want your terminal server doing BGP... Thats what routers are
for. If I recall, the price per port on the livingston box is cheaper than
the equivalant MAX...  Search through the livingston mailling list archives
for a livingston product comparison... You can get it off their home page.
