The following reply was made to PR ports/108406; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Herve Quiroz <hq@FreeBSD.org> To: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org, dking@ketralnis.com Cc: Subject: Re: ports/108406: Offer for maintainership of devel/apache-ant Date: Mon, 29 Jan 2007 14:10:39 +0100 Hi David, devel/apache-ant is a critical port regarding the Java ports framework. Indeed, lots of ports depend on it to build and updates to this port requires caution. I am willing to submit your patch for an experimental build on the cluster. However, there is already a Java-related patch that is being tested on the cluster [1]. Regarding maintainership, I strongly believe that java@FreeBSD.org has to remain as a maintainer so that nothing can be commited to the port that has not been approved by the Java ports team I beforehand. I am sorry for the lack of feedback on the topic. I'll try to a bit more verbose from now.
