I've got a working Zip drive under FreeBSD 2.1.5R, initially on my 486/33 and now on my P5/120. I chose SCSI because I already had an Adaptec 1542CF and three SCSI devices. You may wish to configure AMD to handle mounting of the Zip drive. I've found it reduces the number of instances I need to become root to mount a Zip disk.
