One last thing: would it be possible for you to get a look at the
chip itself and confirm the part number stamped on it? I'm curious
to know if it says RTL8168 or RTL8168B. Based on the dmesg output from
your system, it looks like it's not a laptop, so I'm hoping it's not
too much trouble to pop the cover and take a peek. If it is a big pain
though, don't worry about it: hopefully RealTek will get back to me before
too long.
