A properly configured sendmail running on a properly configured
FreeBSD machine will outrun every other "real" MTA on every other
platform in existence. I know the people that have proved this fact,
but their customers want them to keep this a secret because they
don't want their competitive advantage to be known.
BTW, you may be interested to read the upcoming book _Sendmail
Performance Tuning_ by Nick Christenson.
